The Last of Us Part 1 PS5 update adds new crossover cosmetics and more

Following the hugely successful run of HBO’s The Last of Us adaptation, many fans both old and new have been giving the recently-released remake of the first game a go.. While PC players still patiently wait for the many performance woes to be sorted out, The Last of Us Part 1 on PS5 has gotten a pretty big update, fixing dozens of bugs and even adding a few new cosmetics.

As was the case with the initial release of The Last of Us all the way back in 2013, Naughty Dog have now added a couple additional in-game shirts for Ellie to wear. Based on a number of HBO properties and references in the show itself, Ellie can now be decked out in more t-shirts, including ones which reference The Wire and even Mortal Kombat.

More importantly, patch 1.03 brings with it dozens of bug fixes; gameplay changes; accessibility improvements and more, including:

  • Improved Navigation Assistance goal placement across various locations
  • Fixed some collectible items not highlighting correctly when using High Contrast Mode
  • Improved Ellie's accuracy [during Left Behind] to match her accuracy during the main story
  • [Brazilian Portuguese] Remastered and increased the audio quality for in-game voice lines
  • Adjusted aim sensitivity from 1-10 to 1-100, with a lower minimum sensitivity
  • Companion characters now throw bricks at enemies during combat more consistently
  • Rifle weapons now use hit-scan instead of projectile physics to determine whether they hit an enemy
  • Player character can move sooner after finishing a melee swing
  • Enemies no longer beg for their lives when they can't be easily reached by the player
  • Numerous visual improvements and adjustments throughout the game

The full list of changes is extensive and can be found HERE, but even in looking at these few examples above we can see that a great deal of thought and work has gone into this update. Hopefully the PC version sees an equal amount of love soon.
