Techland’s next game is an open-world Fantasy Action-RPG

Hot off the heels of the successful open-world zombie game Dying Light 2, the team at development studio Techland has now announced their next game, revealing that it will be an open world fantasy action RPG.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Techland page revealed that the studio is currently hiring for an “unannounced AAA Open World Action-RPG in a fantasy setting!”

Little more was provided in the way of details aside from what appears to be a piece of concept art, although with dozens of jobs on offer – ranging from Creative Director to Lead Producer to Level Designers to QA testers and more – it is clear that this next project is not only large in scope, but a long way away.

Since their formation in 1991, the Polish-based studio has worked on a large number of projects, though their most successful creations are undoubtedly the Dead Island and Dying Light series – two franchises sharing many similarities.

With Techland focusing primarily on zombie games for the past decade, it is exciting to see the studio branching out into new genres. The team has come a long way from the early days of Dead Island. With them having refined the genre’s formula over the course of multiple games, it is exciting to see Techland expand into other worlds.
