Souls-Like Remnant: From the Ashes is in development for Nintendo Switch

Remnant: From the Ashes is the latest title from Gunfire Games, the studio behind Darksiders III, as well as Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition. Released in 2019, the game took clear inspiration from the Souls series while adding its own twist in the form of gun-focused combat. Ahead of the release of its sequel some time this year, it has now been announced that a Nintendo Switch port of the first game is in the works.

Making the announcement on Twitter, publisher THQ Nordic said “Humanity is struggling to survive, but they possess the technology… to play #Remnant: From the Ashes wherever they want. Are you brave enough to grab your #Switch and take back what's yours? Remnant: From the Ashes is coming soon to Nintendo Switch.”

Remnant: From the Ashes is a tough but rewarding third-person shooter with satisfying gameplay, decent exploration and a unique aesthetic. With Gunfire Games themselves seemingly working on the port, hopefully the game is done justice.

That said, we recently saw another Souls-like (Mortal Shell) ported to Switch – and the results were less-than-stellar. Hopefully Remnant: From the Ashes on Switch manages to maintain its target framerate.
