Sony is demoing PSVR2 at GDC

Today marks the 4th day of the annual Game Developers Conference (GDC) which sees all manner of talks, discussions, announcements and details revealed regarding many aspects of the video games industry. Sony appears to be demoing their upcoming PlayStation VR 2 headset at the conference suggesting more news may be on its way very shortly.

GDC 2022 began on Monday the 21st of March and will conclude tomorrow, Friday the 25th. Being a developer focused event, many of the talks, discussions and details are focused on that side of the industry. Even so, juicy details can often be found. It looks like Sony is currently using GDC as an opportunity to demo their upcoming PSVR2 headset, with Chet Faliszek, the CEO and co-founder of indie studio StrayBombay, saying:

“Had one of those VR moments today playing in the new PSVR2 hmd… You know where the world just feels different when you return? Sooooo good… thanks [Shuhei Yoshida] and [Greg Rice] for the demo and chat.”

The fact that the PSVR2 is fully demoable suggests that Sony is quite far along with the development of the peripheral. While official details have been relatively light regarding the PSVR2, an abundance of leaks and rumours have painted the device as being very promising indeed. Hopefully we see more from the PSVR2 soon.
