Remnant II officially surpasses 2 million copies sold

Remnant II is a co-op focused Souls-like which switches out traditional melee combat for 3rd person shooting. Being a sequel to the 2019 surprise hit, many expected Remnant II to do well. Following its immediate success upon launch back in July, the game has now gone on to sell over 2 million copies.

Making the announcement on Twitter, Ben Cureton – Principal Designer at Gunfire Games – revealed the updated figure, saying “Over 2 million copies sold… I wonder what's next. #Remnant2.”

Remnant II sold 1 million copies in its first week, and so while it has taken a significantly longer time to sell an additional million, many game sales are front-loaded, and so this isn’t out of the ordinary. Still, 2 million copies sold in less than 4 months is certainly worth celebrating.

For comparison, the first entry in this series – Remnant: From the Ashes – took two months to sell 1 million copies, with it only nearing 2 million a whole year later.

That said, considering the fact that Remnant: From the Ashes eventually ended up selling over 3 million copies by the tail end of 2021, it will be interesting to see just how quickly Remnant II ends up surpassing its predecessor in that regard.
