Pragmata has been delayed indefinitely – though we finally got gameplay

When Sony first showed off the PlayStation 5 at the company’s ‘Future of Gaming’ showcase, one of the most interesting games announced was Capcom’s PRAGMAMA: “a brand-new sci-fi action adventure game” which “will present players with a profound story and setting, as cutting edge visuals take full advantage of next-generation platform features”. Since then, the game has been delayed more than once, with the most recent pushing the game back to an indeterminate time.

Back in late 2021 it was announced that Pragmata would be delayed from its initial release year of 2022, instead set to arrive sometime in 2023. Now, during the Capcom Showcase we got our first look at gameplay – showing off what appears to be a 3rd-person shooter with a unique aesthetic and interesting gameplay thanks to the inclusion of the mysterious little girl character, who players will supposedly be escorting and protecting.

Unfortunately, the trailer also included the announcement of another delay – this time pushing the game back from some time in 2023 to an indeterminate future date. Speaking on the delay, the Pragmata development team said:

“To all our expectant fans, It is with a heavy heart that we must further postpone the release of Pragmata. Our team is currently hard at work making the best game that we possibly can, but we need more time. We will continue to do our best to ensure that the final product is one that is worthy of your patience. Thank you for your continued support.”

While the announcement of another delay is somewhat disappointing, getting actual gameplay of Pragmata will hopefully satiate fans until the title comes out some time in 2024 or beyond.
