PlayStation 5 Technical Presentation officially announced

In march of 2020, Sony officially announced and revealed the PlayStation 5’s specifications in-depth with a ‘Road to PS5’ stream hosted by the system’s lead architect Mark Cerny. With rumours of a PS5 Pro presentation set for this week, the console manufacturer has now announced another similarly-styled ‘Technical Presentation’ – hosted once again by Mark Cerny.

Making the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, Sid Shuman – the Senior Director of Content Communications at SIE – said:

“Join us for a streamed presentation hosted by Mark Cerny, Lead Architect of the PS5 console. The 9-minute Technical Presentation will focus on PS5 and innovations in gaming technology.”

The presentation will go live on the official PlayStation YouTube channel later today at 4PM UK Time. As mentioned, it was already rumoured that the PlayStation 5 Pro was going to be announced this week; and while Sony has not outwardly stated this as being the PS5 Pro event – what else is it going to be?

Interestingly, unlike the PS5’s hardware breakdown by Cerny – which went on for a solid 50 minutes – this upcoming presentation is much more concise. That said, given the fact that we are intimately familiar with the PS5 at this point, there will understandably be less to say about its mid-gen refresh.
