Persona 5 Royal might come to Switch after all

For some, the most exciting announcement at Microsoft’s Xbox showcase was the reveal that Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal are going multiplatform. Unfortunately, no Switch versions of any of these games were announced despite the platform’s portable nature lending itself nicely to the genre. That being said, there is still hope thanks to a new leak from an online retailer.

As discovered by Twitter user ‘CrocOclock’, the Swiss website WOG (World of Games) posted a listing on their website for a Switch version of Persona 5 Royal. Set for the same date as the Xbox and PC release (21st October 2022), the listing includes an image of the game’s box art and Switch case – adding credence to its legitimacy.

Going to the linked page for the Switch version of Persona 5 Royal now says “Produkt nicht gefunden [Product not found],” again, lending to its legitimacy.

If Persona 5 Royal is indeed headed to Switch on the same day as Xbox and PC, it is curious to see no official announcement on the matter yet. Of course, the game’s move to multi-platform was first announced at the Xbox showcase.

Even so, the silence on a Switch version even after the fact is interesting. We will have to simply wait and see whether the much-desired Switch release of Persona 5 Royal comes to fruition.
