Persona 3 and 4 getting limited-run physical release

Earlier this year, Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden were unshackled from their original platforms, finally being made available across all modern systems. Unfortunately, the games were digital-only at the time. Now, Limited Run Games have announced that both these classic JRPGs are set to get limited physical collector editions.

Making the announcement, LimitedRunGames revealed that Persona 3 Portable is set to get a number of limited edition physical releases across PlayStation, Xbox and the Nintendo Switch. Only available to order between the 29th of September and the 12th of November, Persona 3 Portable is being produced in 3 different forms – a standard physical edition, a ‘Grimoire Edition’ and last but not least a S.E.E.S. Edition.

The standard edition will cost $34.99 and includes a cart/disc of the game alongside a physical case for each respective console. The Grimoire Edition meanwhile costs $69.99 and features a physical copy of Persona 3 Portable; a Persona 3 Portable slipcover; a Grimoire Book box and a steelbook case.

Finally, the S.E.E.S. Edition costs a rather hefty $199.99 but includes all of the previous items plus a light-up 1:1 Evoker Replica Shadowbox; an All Out Attack 3D Shadow Box; a copy of the P3P soundtrack; character Trading Cards; school patch; S.E.E.S. armband and a numbered certificate of authenticity.

Alongside Persona 3 Portable, LRG also announced that Persona 4 Golden would be seeing a similar treatment – though no further details were shared aside from the fact that it would be arriving one month from now on the 27th of October – with more details promised to be revealed in the coming weeks.

The Persona series has always gone all-out when it comes to collectors’ editions and so it is exciting to see both P3P and P4G getting physical releases so many years after their original launches.
