Octopath Traveler II Demo available now on all platforms

It has become increasingly uncommon for video game publishers to release demos for their games, especially prior to the title’s launch. That said, Square Enix has historically been rather good in this regard – with the publisher dropping a demo for the upcoming Octopath Traveler II on all target platforms.

Initially announced at the General Nintendo Direct, Square Enix later revealed that a demo for Octopath Traveler II was being made available on all platforms for which the upcoming JRPG is set to launch on – meaning Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PS5 and PC (Steam).

As with the demo released for the original Octopath Traveler, this latest Prologue Demo will allow you to transfer your save data to the full game when it launches on the 24th of February.

It is worth noting that there are some limitations to this demo. While offering a healthy chunk of content, players will be restricted to a 3 hour timer, though if you desire you will be able to start the demo over again using a different character (but it will erase your previous saved data).

Despite the limitation, it is always exciting when a game’s early hours are released for free ahead of time, especially if you can then carry over the progress to the full game. If you’re unsure whether Octopath Traveler II is for you or not, you need simply download the prologue demo to find out for yourself.
