Nintendo to host a Direct next week according to leaks

Nintendo Directs have served as a great way for the console manufacturer to keep fans informed on the latest that Nintendo has to offer, ever since the first Direct premiered back in 2011. While the company itself typically waits until mere days before the showcase to make any official announcements, an insider has now claimed that a new Nintendo Direct is planned to go live next week.

According to Universo Nintendo (who have in the past correctly leaked a number of Directs) the Switch manufacturer is planning to host a showcase some time next week – between the 11th and 16th of September.

While we do not yet know exactly what format this Direct will take, Universo Nintendo claims that it will either be a mini or general Direct – meaning it will not focus on an individual title, and will likely feature at least some first-party offerings.

Despite the Switch seemingly being on its last legs, Nintendo still has many unreleased games to update fans on, including Detective Pikachu Returns; Super Mario RPG; the Switch version of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon; the currently-untitled Princess Peach game, and of course the ever-elusive Metroid Prime 4.

These titles aside, Nintendo always has a surprise or two up their sleeves, and so it would not be shocking to see a bunch of unannounced games also find their way into the showcase. Of course, we’ll have to wait until Nintendo officially announces the event before beginning to speculate, however it could be rather meaty. We won’t have long to wait before finding out.
