Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake to release in 2024 according to insider

Just yesterday we reported that a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is supposedly in the works at Konami, with plans for its reveal to be shown at E3. Now, the very same leaker has returned with slightly more information on this yet-to-be-announced title, claiming that the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake will be released next year.

Industry insider Andy Robinson of VGC recently claimed that after years away from the industry, Konami is set to make a grand return this E3, with the publisher reportedly having multiple exciting projects in the works, including a brand new Castlevania game and a full remake of the PlayStation 2 Classic Metal Gear Solid 3.

Unfortunately, it seems as though E3 may not go ahead after all due to many publishers and partners pulling out of the expo. Luckily, according to Robinson, regardless of the state of E3, Konami has plans to unveil the much-desired remake this summer, with the insider offering a bit more information on the rumoured remake, saying:

“MGS3 remake is now a 2024 title and there's still talk of MGS re-releases of some kind. E3 window was their marketing plan, last I heard.”

From the wording, it seems as though the MGS3 remake was planned to come out sometime this year and has since been internally pushed back a bit. Still, this news is highly exciting indeed, especially as there has been no official word on this illusive remake – meaning the upcoming announcement could have shown off a game still very early in development.

With MGS3 supposedly set to come out next year, hopefully the official announcement offers much more than a simple tease or cinematic, but shows off actual gameplay. We won’t have too long to wait in order to find out.
