Metal Gear Rising is getting a 10th anniversary celebration event

The Metal Gear Solid franchise has always been rather unique. This is no more so the case than with the over-the-top PlatnimumGames developed Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. Currently locked to 7th generation consoles, a 10th anniversary event has now been announced,

Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, the official PlatinumGames account revealed that “METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE 10th Anniversary is Coming!” saying “Feb 21 2023 will mark a decade since the release of #MGR in Japan. We'll be posting art right here to celebrate on the day, so don't miss it!”

Alongside the announcement a unique piece of Metal Gear Rising art was released showing off Raiden in the art style of Viewtiful Joe – another PlatinumGames title. Of course, while officially fans should only expect some more art pieces to be released on the 21st of February, Konami has been rather good with re-releasing older titles as of late, and so hopefully a few surprises are in store.

Of course, we still have yet to receive any remasters for the mainline Metal Gear Solid series, and so it would make sense for Konami to re-release all those titles first. We will have to wait and see.
