Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release window has leaked

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was first announced all the way back in 2021, offering fans a relatively quick tease of the upcoming PS5 exclusive. At the time, the game’s announcement was accompanied by a release year of 2023, and while we have seen nothing from the game since, a new leak may have given away Spider-Man 2’s release window.

As discovered by Evan Filarca – the founder of ‘The Spidey Squad’ – one Insomniac Games screenwriter updated their personal website to detail their current credits, revealing that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is planned for release in ‘Fall 2023’ – at least internally, saying “Currently on the writing team for the upcoming Spider-Man 2 (release fall 2023) and Wolverine games (release TBD) for Insomniac Games/Sony Interactive.”

Following the discovery by Filarca, the employee changed the wording to remove any mention of the game’s release window, with it now instead reading “I'm currently part of the writing team at Insomniac Games (Sony Interactive); I worked on the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game for the PS5 that will be released in 2023 as well as the upcoming Wolverine game.”

Though we have not seen any footage of Spider-Man 2 beyond the game’s initial reveal trailer, Insomniac Games have previously reiterated their confidence in Spider-Man 2’s 2023 release year, and so whether it does indeed release in the latter half of the year or not, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will soon be upon us.
