Limited Run Games announces more than 30 new physical releases

Though there was once a time when all software was installed through the use of physical media, the commercialisation of the internet has allowed for digital-only releases to become more and more commonplace. One company which is maintaining the spirit of physical media is Limited Run Games – who have now announced 33 new physical titles going up for sale.

Limited Run Games recently held a live stream where they announced the next wave of titles set to get the physical media treatment. Covering all manner of consoles, the games announced to be getting limited physical releases include:

  • DOOM 64 (Xbox)
  • DOOM Eternal (Switch)
  • Glover (N64)
  • Go Go Kokopolo! (3DS)
  • Konami Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection (Switch. PS4)
  • Night Trap (PS5)
  • Plumbers Don't Wear Ties: Definitive Edition (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox)
  • River City Girls 2 (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox)
  • Shadowrun Trilogy (PS4, Xbox, Switch)
  • Shantae (PS4, PS5)
  • STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic II (Switch, PC)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge (PS4, Switch, Xbox)
  • Tetris Effect: Connected (Switch, PS4, Xbox)

As mentioned, the full list (which can be found HERE) includes 33 titles in total, all of which are planned for release across 2022 and 2023.

With each passing year, fewer and fewer physical games are being purchased, with digital quickly overtaking the market. While digital media is undoubtedly the future of gaming, it is encouraging to see Limited Run Games keeping physical media somewhat alive.
