FromSoftware promises more Elden Ring is on the way

Elden Ring won big at the 2022 Game Awards, taking home the all-important Game of the Year award. As part of his acceptance speech, Elden Ring’s Director Hidetaka Miyazaki teased that more Elden Ring is on the way – in some form or another.

During his acceptance speech for Game of the Year, Miyazaki said “Thank you so much. I would like to share this great appreciation with our entire Elden Ring team members; everybody at FromSoftware; our partner Bandai Namco; all collaborators and last but not least Mr. George RR Martin who created the great mythos for this game.”

Miyazaki continued, “We have faced so many difficulties while developing this game so as a director I’m really relieved, and this might not be the right thing to say at the location of receiving the GOTY award, but I haven't made up my mind to create even more interesting games than this one.”

Miyazaki then teased the future of the record-breaking Elden Ring, saying “As for Elden Ring we still have several more things we want to do, so getting this GOTY award really encourages us.”

What exactly Miyazaki means by this is unknown, but considering the fact that Elden Ring has sold over 17.5 million copies in less than a year, it is safe to assume that the GOTY winner will be getting some form of DLC – or perhaps even a sequel.
