Following fan feedback TMNT Shredder’s Revenge gets massive update

TMNT Shredder’s Revenge successfully revived the much-loved franchise, creating an arcade-like brawler which equally harkens back to days of old while simultaneously improving upon the genre’s formula. Following the recent announcement that TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection received a massive update, Shredder’s Revenge has now seen an equally huge (if not bigger) surprise update.

Making the announcement, the team at Dotemu discussed the dozens of improvements and additions – both major and minor – coming to TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge with this latest update, saying:

“Cowabunga! This year, Christmas arrives a bit earlier than usual: we are happy to announce that a free update has just been deployed for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, adding its share of new features and quality of life improvements.”

With that, just some of the new features and fixes are as follows:

  • Multiple CRT and VCR filters added
  • A new Arcade mode is here: Custom Game
    • 11 tweaking possibilities through Dip Switches
  • In the Character Select menu, the host can now set a maximum number of players for the lobby
  • Guest players can now rejoin the same hosted game
  • Doing a throw now grants the player invulnerability
  • Many small animation tweaks were made to all bosses, often to make attacks easier to read
  • Improved the way the Arcade score is calculated: now recording each player individually, even if they leave the game
  • Pause menu in Arcade mode now shows the total play time
  • Steam Input: improved support for PS5 controllers

These are just some of the many improvements arriving with this patch, making what was already an excellent game into a highly refined and perfected version of itself.
