Details surrounding Halo Infinite’s Battle Royale mode has leaked

One year on from its launch, Halo Infinite is not in the best position currently. Thankfully, both 343i and Xbox are aware of this and are working diligently to try and right this ship. One way in which the team hopes to do so is through the release of a Battle Royale mode – new details of which have now leaked.

As reported on and collated by TwistedVoxel, a number of details surrounding Halo Infinite’s upcoming Battle Royale mode have leaked from multiple sources (namely Twitter users ‘Bathrobe Spartan’ and ‘Ains’).

According to the pair, Halo Infinite will share some similarities with other BR titles, while shaking up the formula in other ways. As with most BR titles, Infinite’s will feature an initial intro phase, along with a deployment and release phase – with players being able to join the game throughout these initial phases.

After dropping into the arena, however, Halo Infinite will reportedly spawn you in with an initial weapon loadout – a mechanic which differs greatly from most other BR titles (which will typically spawn you in with no weapons whatsoever).

According to ‘Ains’, this battle royale mode is planned to release alongside the game’s 4th Season, which is said to be arriving sometime in mid-2023. Until then, fans will have to make do with Halo Infinite’s current set-up – though at least the game’s 3rd Season is set to bring with it ray-tracing.
