Days Gone Remastered comes to PS5 this April alongside new PC DLC

Late last year, we began to hear rumours that Sony Bend’s open-world zombie shooter ‘Days Gone’ could be getting a PS5 remaster in the wake of the release of Horizon Zero Dawn’s recent PS5 upgrade. Sure enough, during last night’s State of Play, Sony officially announced Days Gone Remastered alongside a bunch of nifty new additions.

Announced and dated during Sony’s State of Play, Days Gone Remastered is set to come to PS5 on the 25th of April. Taking to the PlayStation Blog, Bend Studio’s Community Manager – Kevin McAllister – offered a bunch of additional details on this enhanced release, writing:

“Days Gone Remastered is brought to new life by the PlayStation 5 console featuring improved graphical fidelity, increased foliage draw distance, improved shadow and lighting quality, Tempest 3D Audio, VRR support and more.”

Unlike the aforementioned Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster (which felt in many ways more like a faithful remake), Days Gone Remastered seems to be much closer to the original game graphically. That said, this remaster in particular includes a bunch of new features and modes, including a survival arcade mode known as ‘Horde Assault’; a permadeath mode and a speedrun option.

Other notable additions include full DualSense controller support, a bunch of extra accessibility features; multiple performance / graphics modes and an FOV slider.

Days Gone Remastered launches on PS5 on the 25th of April for $49.99 – though owners of the original game can upgrade for just $10. Additionally, all of the extra content coming with this remaster can be accessed day-one on PC by purchasing the Broken Road DLC – also for just $10.

Of course, the PS4 version of Days Gone can be played right now on PS5 at 60fps, but having a more comprehensive remaster with full proper PS5 support – alongside new bonus content – is welcome to see.

KitGuru Games: The Genius Casting of Kaitlyn Dever in HBO’s The Last of Us

Following an explosive and highly popular first series, HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 is almost upon us. Set to premiere on the 13th of April, the sequel season based on Naughty Dog’s controversial Part II is likely to spark up even more discourse than the first. Unlike 2020’s masterpiece however, HBO’s adaptation has made one key decision which – if handled well – could not only serve to build upon the theming of the game itself, but also function as a different way to tell the same message. That being the casting of Kaitlyn Dever as Abby.
