Bugsnax will be free on PlayStation Plus at launch

Each month, PlayStation offers a number of titles for free to those who are subscribed to the console manufacturer’s PlayStation Plus service. For the month of November, 3 games are being offered instead of the usual 2. Thanks to the launch of the PlayStation 5, players will be able to get their hands on the much anticipated Bugsnax for PlayStation 5, as well as two other PS4 titles.

The free PS Plus games for the month of November are:

  • Bugsnax (PS5)
  • Middle-Earth: Shadow of War (PS4+PS5)
  • Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition (PS4+PS5)

While both Shadow of War and Hollow Knight will be made available from the 3rd of November, Bugsnax will be joining the service on the 19th of November, and leaving on the 4th of January. Bugsnax is, of course, the much anticipated PlayStation console exclusive by the developers of Octodad. While much of the game has been shrouded in mystery, it is positioned as an “ultra-charming, whimsical first-person adventure” which sees you “Play an investigative journalist who has set out to explore Snaktooth Island, home to legendary half-bug half-snack creatures, Bugsnax. Discover, hunt and capture all 100 critters while also tracking down and reuniting the island’s inhabitants.”

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is the sequel to the much-loved Shadow of Mordor. While the sequel failed to live up to the original, due in part to the inclusion of microtransactions which otherwise halted progress significantly, these more problematic systems were later removed, creating a much more enjoyable experience.

Hollow Knight is a 2D metroidvania which saw universal acclaim following its release. The game has players “descend into a sprawling underground world of Hollownest to battle tainted creatures and befriend bizarre bugs”. With a sequel currently in development, Hollow Knight is sure to “challenge your combat and platforming skills as you strive to solve the mysteries buried at its heart.“

Of course, it is worth mentioning that PS5 players will receive 21 of the PS4’s best titles on top of November’s offerings, making for a very big month of PlayStation Plus subscribers.
