Battlefield 6 playtests frequency “the most the franchise has seen in its history”

For the past many entries, EA and DICE’s Battlefield series has not been able to recapture the energy and loyalty that many of its earlier titles were able to – with its primary competitor Call of Duty taking the metaphorical baton and running with it all the way to the finish line. That said, it seems EA is betting big on the next Battlefield, with reports claiming that the game’s ongoing playtests are “the most the franchise has seen in its history.”

As reported by known leakers Insider-Gaming, the current playtesting period for the upcoming Battlefield 6 has been much more rigorous than prior entries, claiming that:

“playtests with external players are happening much more frequently than in past instalments, and the amount of data and feedback collected is the most the franchise has seen in its history.”

According to the publication, this is all part of a renewed ‘player-first’ approach which is said to be continuing over the course of the game’s development.

While DICE did as much as they could to turn around the disastrous launch of Battlefield 2042, only so much could be achieved given the starting state of the title.

Hopefully the next Battlefield is indeed the beginning of the return of this much-loved – though unfortunately mismanaged – series.
