August’s PS Plus Essential line-up announced

Each month, all those with a PlayStation Plus subscription are able to get their hands on a few select games which can be added to your library – and remain playable as long as you have an active subscription. For the month of August, Sony is giving away a couple older titles in what some might say is a weak month for the service.

Making the announcement on the PlayStation blog, Adam Michel – the Director for Content Acquisition & Operations at Sony Interactive Entertainment – said “Relive all nine Star Wars films in Lego form, survive an overnight in Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex and journey through a destroyed kingdom with August’s PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup.”

Available to add to your library from the 6th of August until the 2nd of September, August’s PlayStation Plus Essential line-up features the following:

  • LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga | PS4, PS5
  • Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach | PS4, PS5
  • Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights | PS4

While a relatively weak month, September’s line-up will include day-one access to the upcoming Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions – so hopefully its inclusion balances out August’s lack of major titles.

In case you missed it, July’s PS Plus Essential games can still be obtained up until the 6th of August, with the line-up being:

  • Borderlands 3 | PS4, PS5
  • NHL 24 | PS4, PS5
  • Among Us | PS4, PS5
