Atomic Heart has exceeded publisher expectations

One of the most notable games to have been released so far this year is Atomic Heart. Developed by Mundfish, the single-player first-person shooter drew much attention thanks to its alternate-history setting and Bioshock inspired aesthetics. Just two months following its launch, the game has been labeled as a success – exceeding expectations according to publisher Focus Entertainment.

As reported by List23, Focus Entertainment recently released their most recent financial reports for the 2022 fiscal year, revealing that the publisher’s revenue increased by a substantial 36% compared to FY2021.

This boost in revenue was undoubtedly aided by the release of Atomic Heart on the 21st of February, which according to Focus Entertainment exceeded expectations (alongside other releases; namely Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and Evil West).

Though no official figures were shared, we do know that Atomic Heart saw more than 5 million players flock to the game during its first 3 weeks on the market – an impressive figure indeed.

With the game launching day-one on Xbox Game Pass, it is tough to determine exactly just how many people actually bought the game. That said, as long as the publisher is happy with its performance, then Atomic Heart looks to have a bright future ahead of it.
