Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR announced with CGI trailer

Ubisoft’s most recent edition of its Forward showcase has come and gone, and brought with it a bunch of announcements. One of the biggest new games to be officially announced was Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR – though unfortunately we did not get to see any gameplay.

The notion of a VR Assassin’s Creed game is an enticing one, and so the official announcement of Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR brings with it a great deal of excitement. Unfortunately, while we did get some information on this upcoming title, no gameplay was shown, instead focusing on offering a CGI trailer which tries to emulate what players will be doing in virtual reality.

The official synopsis for AC Nexus VR is as follows: “Embody legendary Assassins in an all-new story built exclusively for VR. Parkour and climb freely across open maps as you decide how to achieve the objectives. Use real world motions with a variety of weapons as you fight reactive enemies. Maneuver stealthily by hiding in the shadows or blending in amongst civilians. Experience the rush of air assassinations and the daunting leap of faith. Innovative VR functionality provides the ultimate immersive experience with best-in-class comfort features to help with vertigo or fear of heights.”

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is set to arrive later this year during Holiday 2023, and so hopefully we get to see some actual gameplay sooner rather than later. AC Nexus VR is coming to the Meta Quest 2 and 3 exclusively.
