Ace Combat 7 has sold over 4 million copies

Back in early 2021, we reported that Ace Combat 7 – the latest entry in the long-running and well-loved arcade-style flight combat game franchise – had sold 2.5 million copies within its first two years on the market. Since then, support for the game has not slowed down, with the title now officially surpassing 4 million copies sold.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Ace Combat page said (as translated by Twitter itself) “‘ACE COMBAT 7: SKIES UNKNOWN’ has sold over 4 million copies worldwide! We are releasing a commemorative wallpaper to express our gratitude to all the ace pilots around the world. Thank you for your continued support!”

The Wallpaper – which can be found HERE – features 4 jets flying in unison – with each one presumably representing one million copies sold.

Since its inception all the way back in 1995, the Ace Combat series has amassed a dedicated audience of fans who enjoy the series not only for its fun gameplay, but also unique and slightly off kilter story – and of course the series’ excellent soundtracks.
