Xbox is reportedly reviving Banjo-Kazooie

The Xbox and Bethesda showcase is coming up later this evening and so far, very little has leaked. We already know about the new Forza Horizon 5 expansion, which will be revealed at the show, and now, one of Microsoft's other planned surprises may have been revealed. According to reports, Banjo-Kazooie is being revived.

A developer working at NightDive Studios recently went on a podcast and discussed some of what they heard from developers at GDC in March. Apparently, Banjo-Kazooie kept popping up in discussions and talk of a new game has persisted for several months.

Xbox head, Phil Spencer, has previously commented on bringing more family-friendly IP to Xbox, which likely led to this franchise being revived. Prior to this, the last time Microsoft officially did anything with the franchise was a few years ago, when Banjo-Kazooie joined the Super Smash Bros Ultimate roster.

Whether or not we see a brand new Banjo-Kazooie, or a remastered collection of older titles (or both), still remains to be seen. The Xbox and Bethesda showcase airs at 6PM BST today, so we'll know how legitimate this rumour is in just a matter of hours.
