Xbox Game Pass January update headlined by Resident Evil and Assassin’s Creed

Microsoft ended 2023 with one final double-sized wave of Xbox Game Pass titles in December, rather than the usual two. Now as we enter 2024, things are returning to normal, with two waves of games per month. The first set of games heading to Game Pass in January 2024 have now been announced, including new additions from Ubisoft and Capcom.

The biggest game joining Game Pass this month is Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which will be available to subscribers across PC, console and cloud from the 9th of January. Resident Evil 2 Remake is also joining on the 16th of January.

The full list of games joining Game Pass over the next couple of weeks can be found below:

  • Close to the Sun (Cloud, Console and PC) – Available today
  • Hell Let Loose (Cloud, Console and PC)  – 4th of January
  • Assassin's Creed Valhalla (Cloud, Console and PC) – 9th of January
  • Figment (Cloud, Console and PC) – 9th of January
  • Super Mega Baseball 4 (Cloud, Console and PC) – 11th of January
  • We Happy Few (Cloud, Console and PC) – 11th of January
  • Resident Evil 2 Remake (Cloud, Console and PC) – 16th of January
  • Those Who Remain (Cloud, Console and PC) – 16th of January

Unfortunately some big games are also leaving Game Pass this month. This Friday, GTA V will leave the service. On the 15th of January, Game Pass will lose Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden, as well as MotoGP 22 and Garden Story.

KitGuru Says: I am surprised that We Happy Few wasn't already on Game Pass but the situation has been rectified. While both older titles, Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Resident Evil 2 are still pretty solid additions.
