Wild Hearts will have offline solo play, free DLC and no microtransactions

It has been a few months now since EA and Koei Tecmo announced their partnership to bring Wild Hearts to PC and consoles. With the game's release just around the corner, the developers hosted an AMA, addressing community questions around monetisation, microtransactions and post-launch content.

Much like Monster Hunter, a franchise that has clearly inspired Wild hearts, this game will have free DLC updates after launch and there are ‘no plans' to feature microtransactions, but that is always something that could change later down the line. At the very least, it doesn't seem to be anything players need to worry about in the immediate future.

In another move that will win over current fans of the genre, Koei Tecmo has also ensured that Wild Hearts is completely playable solo and offline, so you don't need an internet connection to jump in and play.

The AMA also revealed the game's performance targets on console. While PC players will get to adjust graphics to get the best frame rate possible, consoles will have two preset modes, a Quality Mode targeting 4K/30FPS and a Performance Mode that runs at 1080p/60FPS.

Wild Hearts is set to release very soon, on the 17th of February, for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

KitGuru Says: Given that EA is publishing, this game should also be available to EA Play Pro subscribers on day-one, and we should likely see it as part of the basic EA Play subscription later down the line. Are any of you planning on giving this game a go?
