Valve will give away a Steam Deck every minute that The Game Awards is live

The Game Awards is coming up next week and while typically Valve gets involved with the event through Steam sales, this year, the company will be doing something a little bigger. Steam will be broadcasting the show as it airs, all while giving away a Steam Deck to a viewer every minute.

Valve's Steam TV streaming service is primarily used for broadcasting esports tournaments, but it will also be one of the places streaming The Game Awards this year. You can log in to view the stream with your Steam account, putting you in an ongoing raffle to win a Steam Deck. Valve will be giving away one 512GB Steam Deck every minute that the show is live, so by the end of it, Valve will have given away around 170 consoles.

The 512GB Steam Deck is Valve's highest tier model, offering the most storage space and uses a speedy M.2 SSD for quick loading times. This version of the handheld also has an anti-glare display and comes with some exclusive extras, like a more premium carrying case and virtual items for your Steam profile.

The Game Awards will be airing on the 8th of December, starting at 7:30PM ET. Viewers will have to be based in the US, Canada, UK or the EU in order to be eligible to win a Steam Deck.
