Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves rating suggests no multiplayer for PC and PS5

Earlier this year, Sony announced plans to bring Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves to PC and PS5 in early 2022. It looks like a release date announcement is now imminent, as the game has since been rated by the ESRB. The rating listing isn't all good news though, as it looks like multiplayer will be removed.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves packages together Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, a standalone expansion set years after the events of Uncharted 4. In its original form on PS4, Uncharted 4 had two multiplayer modes, with one being a PvP shooter and the other being a co-op horde survival mode.

As pointed out by VGC, the ESRB's rating for Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves states that the game has “no Interactive Elements”. That may sound odd, but that is the description the ESRB uses to differentiate games with online features and those without. Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy on PS4 are both listed as having online features.

Currently, there is no release date for Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves, but Sony has said that the PS5 version will come first in early 2022, with a PC release coming “shortly after”. Given this recent rating, it is possible that release dates for both platforms are announced before the end of this year. In the meantime, another major PS4 exclusive will be heading to PC – God of War, which arrives on Steam in January.

KitGuru Says: Most do play Uncharted purely for the single-player mode, but multiplayer did have a pretty big fan base, with Naughty Dog boasting over 13 million players for Uncharted 4's multiplayer. Were you hoping to see multiplayer included with the Legacy of Thieves collection?
