Ubisoft’s Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is currently free for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers

While Mario + Rabbids surprised us all back in 2017, Ubisoft's sequel, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope did not do as well. Fortunately, Nintendo is stepping in to get more players into the game by bringing it to Nintendo Switch Online.

If you have a Switch Online subscription, you will soon be able to play Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope for free. You can download the full game right up until the 14th of July. If you can finish the game before then – well done! If not, you'll have to buy it once the trial period ends.

Mario + Rabbids was a wild concept at the time, combining XCOM style tactics with characters from the Mario universe, going up against Ubisoft's invading ‘Rabbids'. The sequel builds on the first game, adding more options for players to explore in battle, and a lengthy new campaign to play through.

If you haven't played either of the games, we would recommend picking up the first game during a sale. The sequel is great if you want more of this style, but if you are just starting out, the first game would get my vote for the one you should play, as it can regularly be found at a discount and with DLC included.
