Ubisoft will reportedly begin playtesting Beyond Good and Evil 2 soon

When Ubisoft revealed Beyond Good and Evil 2 back in 2017, the publisher also announced an insider program, promising playtests in the future. We've had very few development updates on the game since then, but according to recent reports, the game will finally enter testing soon.

According to industry reporter, Tom Henderson (via exputer), who has previously reported on many Ubisoft projects, Beyond Good and Evil 2 will begin playtesting next month, and will be ‘more extensive' than recent tests for games like XDefiant and The Division Heartland.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 was in development for several years before the departure of the game's director in 2020. The game presumably went through a reboot following that and now, if this report is accurate, Ubisoft is looking to push the project along to release.

Much like Skull and Bones, Beyond Good and Evil 2 is a game that will need a re-reveal from Ubisoft when it does eventually resurface. We saw prototype footage of the game back in 2017, but now five years on, the vision for the game has likely changed considerably.

KitGuru Says: For a while there it seemed like Beyond Good and Evil 2 might be cancelled, so it is good to finally hear new updates. Hopefully some official news on the game won't be too far behind.
