The first story trailer for Star Wars Outlaws drops tomorrow

We recently learned that Star Wars Outlaws has begun getting ratings from classification boards in various countries, a process that typically takes place within months of a game's planned release. Official news on the game's impending launch will be with us soon, as a new trailer is due to drop this week. 

The official Star Wars Outlaws story trailer is premiering on YouTube tomorrow at 5PM UK time. Based on the title, this will be a cinematic trailer primarily, focused on setting the stage for the adventure ahead, rather than diving deep into gameplay. With that said, the trailer should still include plenty of in-game footage, including some active gameplay.

Ubisoft is leaning heavily into the ‘open world' aspect of this game, marketing it as the very first open-world Star Wars game. As Ubisoft is primarily known for open world games, this does make some sense. However, Ubisoft would also do well to explain how this game benefits from being open world. Many of Ubisoft's other games have suffered due to their large and bloated open world structures, something that has become a sticking point in all discussions around Ubisoft's titles.

Star Wars Outlaws is set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, so Darth Vader is lurking around on a starship somewhere in the galaxy, although we don't expect the events of the game to crossover with the films much, if at all.

KitGuru Says: We'll be getting Star Wars Outlaws news even earlier than anticipated. There will no doubt be another update around May the 4th, which Disney has claimed as Star Wars Day.
