Ubisoft confirms Far Cry 6 following leak

Last night in an unexpected turn of events, the PlayStation Network Store leaked listings for Far Cry 6, just days ahead of Ubisoft's official unveiling. Ubisoft is facing the leak head-on, responding on Twitter with a small teaser for the announcement on Sunday.

The Far Cry twitter account responded to last night's leak with a small clip of Anton, the game's main antagonist (played by Giancarlo Esposito), with the caption: “Anton would not be pleased. See you Sunday at UbiForward”.

In Far Cry 6, we'll be returning to a tropical setting, this time, the island of Yara. Anton Castillo rules the island and hopes to restore it to its former glory alongside his son, Diego.

We will be playing as Rojas, a member of the resistance, participating in Guerrilla Warfare in an effort to overthrow the dictatorship in place.

Ubisoft Forward kicks off tomorrow, the 12th of July at 8PM UK time. There will be an hour long pre-show with announcements from current titles like Ghost Recon Breakpoint and The Division 2, followed by the main event, during which we'll see plenty of Watch Dogs Legion, Assassin's Creed Valhalla and of course, Far Cry 6.

KitGuru Says: When you hire an actor like Giancarlo Esposito to play the villain, it is difficult to not be excited. The concept is definitely your usual Far Cry premise, but hopefully the characters and gameplay can surpass expectations. Will many of you be tuning into Ubisoft Forward tomorrow?
