Ubisoft building live service ‘Assassin’s Creed Infinity’

Assassin's Creed was reinvented a few years back with Assassin's Creed Origins, kicking off a new RPG era for the series. As it turns out, Ubisoft is already working on the next major change to the franchise, known as Assassin's Creed Infinity.

According to sources familiar with the matter speaking with Bloomberg, Ubisoft is working on Assassin's Creed Infinity, a new project that aims to bring more live service elements to the franchise, such as a Fortnite style ‘evolving map', with new content introduced and added over time.

Ubisoft has since confirmed the project in a blog post, adding that the publisher's Montreal and Quebec studios are both working on the game. However, sources have also pointed out that some staff members have switched studios due to the scope of this project.

One thing Ubisoft's official blog on the matter makes certain is that the publisher hopes that Assassin's Creed Infinity can be a collaborative game, with different teams from all over Ubisoft chipping in over the course of years, with multiple different settings.

Assassin's Creed Infinity is still years away from release, so we should see another standalone Assassin's Creed game following Valhalla.
