Turkish publisher claims Cyberpunk 2077 will launch next year

We finally got our first good look at Cyberpunk 2077 in August, after CD Projekt Red released its full 50-minute gameplay demo that first debuted privately at E3. There is still no word on a release date and CD Projekt Red has been stressing that there is still much work to be done. However, that hasn't stopped the studio's Turkish publisher from blabbing.

Bilkom has been responsible for publishing CD Projekt Red's Witcher series in Turkey and will also be publishing Cyberpunk 2077 in the country. Last week, the publisher tweeted out that Cyberpunk 2077 would be available in Turkey in 2019. That tweet was eventually deleted, likely at the request of CD Projekt Red, but it was screenshotted by VG247 Turkey beforehand:

Roughly translated via Google, the tweet says: “The makers of the Witcher series, CD Projekt's new game is Cyberpunk 2077. With assurance in Turkey in the year 2019”.

The tweet obviously wasn't supposed to really gain international attention. CD Projekt Red has been trying to temper fan expectations surrounding Cyberpunk's release date, so something like this can undo that work. While Bilkom might be in a position to know about CD Projekt Red's release plans, the tweet could have been based on old/outdated information. With that in mind, don't take this release date news as fact.

KitGuru Says: While I'll be taking this information with a grain of salt, I have to admit that the idea of playing Cyberpunk 2077 late next year is very exciting. Still, nothing is officially announced yet and a lot could change between now and E3 next year.
