The Witcher returns for Season 3 next Summer

While Netflix's live-action Witcher series has been well received so far, but there was quite a lengthy gap between Season 1 and Season 2. Fortunately it looks like Season 3 will be coming a bit sooner, with Netflix announcing plans to air in Summer 2023.

The Witcher Season 3 began filming earlier this year and just recently wrapped up. Now a few weeks later via Netflix Tudum, the company has announced that Season 3 will arrive in Summer 2023. A few months later in Winter 2023, spin-off series ‘Blood Origin' will air.

Season three will continue to tell the story of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri going into the saga's second main book, Time of Contempt. As we saw in Season Two, the show is prepared to make some major changes here and there, so expect some twists and turns. It is entirely possible that certain character storylines play out very differently to the books .

The Witcher Season One started out somewhat rough, with different episodes jumping timelines in an effort to quickly establish the main characters and their relationships. With the second season, the showrunners went in a more traditional direction, making the show and storyline much easier to follow.

KitGuru Says: Will you be returning for The Witcher's third season? Typically, season 3 is where the best shows really find their stride, so I'm looking forward to seeing if The Witcher can continue that trend.
