The Steam summer sale could start this week

The Steam summer sale creeps up on us every year, usually it just appears one day and PC gamers world wide reach for their wallets. However, this year we might have some time to prepare as rumors are suggesting that the sale could start this week.

The sale usually begins in July rather than June but according to payment processor, Paysafecard, the sale is coming early this year. The current expected start date for the biggest sale of the year is the 19th of June, which just so happens to be tomorrow.

The sale will end on the 30th of June, usually Valve gives us an encore sale featuring all of the best deals over the days following the week of deals but it hasn't been clarified whether or not that will be happening this year. While Steam sales are great, it usually prompts other retailers, such as Green Man Gaming, to compete with Valve on discounts so do shop around a little bit before buying.

KitGuru Says: I think I'm going to remain calm and collected during this year's sale. My backlog of games is seriously huge and I don't think that expanding it is such a good idea, then again, don't we all say that to ourselves every year?
