The last time Blizzard celebrated Dialbo 1, the company hosted a limited-time event that brought areas of Diablo 1 into Diablo 3. Soon, gamers will be able to go back and revisit the ARPG in its original form once again.
According to reliable leaker, eXtas1s, Microsoft is planning to bring Diablo 1 to PC Game Pass this month. Game Pass subscribers will be able to link their Microsoft and Battle.net accounts to gain access to the game.
The original Diablo launched back in 1997 and is one of a number of classic Blizzard and Activision games that are due to be integrated into the Game Pass library. Microsoft has been slowly bringing Activision Blizzard titles to the service over 2024 and we hope to see the pace pick up a little bit in 2025. There are also rumours if Microsoft being in talks with Hasbro to bring back Activision's classic Transformers games, and there is talk of older Activision-published Marvel games resurfacing soon as well.
Microsoft is expected to host an Xbox Direct stream in January, outlining the busy year ahead. Xbox will start things off with Avowed next month, the latest RPG from Obsidian. We are also expecting to get news on the next DOOM, Gears of War: E-Day, Fable, Perfect Dark and South of Midnight.
