The new DOOM now has a release date

Bethesda and id Software have announced the release date for the new DOOM game. The rebooted first person shooter has been in the making for years now, with beta access even being offered up to those that pre-ordered the 2014 Wolfenstein: The New Order. The game will now be coming out on the 13th of May 2016 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

There is also a brand new trailer for the game, presented in 1080p/60 frames per second. A collector's edition is also on the way and there are some pre-order bonuses up for grabs.

The £100 Collector's Edition comes with a 12-inch tall stature of the Revenant Demon. Those who pre-order the game (collector's edition or standard) will also receive the Demon Multiplayer Pack, which essentially gives you some skins for multiplayer, along with other cosmetics like logo patterns and different paint colours for armour of gun customization.

Aside from the base game, DOOM will have plenty of modding support, with a level editor being released with the game. This will allow players across all three platforms to make their own levels and challenges and share them with the rest of the world through Bethesda.net.

KitGuru Says: I was pretty impressed by the new trailer for the game so this might be one for my pick up list for the year. Are any of you planning on playing DOOM when it comes out in May?
