The Last of Us Part 1 gameplay and screenshots leak

The Last of Us Part 1, a PS5 remake of The Last of Us, is heading out in just over a month and testers are spending many hours combing through the game for bugs ahead of release. One tester has recently leaked gameplay footage, giving us a closer look at the graphical overhaul.

A source sent Nick Baker gameplay capture of The Last of Us Part 1 running on PS5. Due to the leak, we know about the game's graphical options, including a 4K/30FPS option, a dynamic resolution 60FPS mode and a fully unlocked frame rate mode for those with 120Hz displays.

Visually, the game has been overhauled to match the fidelity of The Last of Us Part 2. This means new character models, better lighting and other tweaks. However, it has also been claimed by one tester that the game does not make any tweaks to gameplay, which is a shame as The Last of Us Part 2 had tighter combat and exploration mechanics compared to the original game.

Another Twitter account has also been leaking gameplay clips and screenshots of the game in action. At first, Sony did try to suppress the leaks but at this point, they are widely spread and easy to find.

The Last of Us Part 1 will release on PS5 on the 2nd of September 2022. The remake will also be releasing on PC at some point in the future.

KitGuru Says: I already finished both The Last of Us games on PS4 and I don't think enough time has passed for me to consider a replay just yet. Are you thinking about picking up the remake at release? Or are you happy with the PS4 remaster?
