The full Yakuza series returns to Xbox Game Pass

At the end of last year, some of the best Yakuza games left Xbox Game Pass, removing Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2. Now just over six months later, the full Yakuza series is returning to the service.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers can once again download and play Yakuza 0, as well as the Kiwami remakes for Yakuza 1 and Yakuza 2. The Yakuza Remastered Collection, which packages Yakuza 3, 4 and 5, is also available on Game Pass, in addition to Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, which is the grand finale to Kiryu's story.

If the older Yakuza games aren't doing it for you, then Yakuza: Like a Dragon (Yakuza 7) is also available on Game Pass now, introducing an entirely new cast of characters, new story, new locations and completely revamps the game's combat from a brawler to a turn-based game. I highly recommend Yakuza in this form, the switch to turn-based is handled very well and the new characters are all very likeable.

Microsoft hasn't officially announced that Yakuza has fully returned to Xbox Game Pass, but all the games are available to download and install across PC and console as of this morning, just as long as you have an active Game Pass subscription.

KitGuru Says: The Yakuza series has grown in popularity but it is still overlooked by many. If you've never tried the Yakuza games and are up for a lengthy crime drama with lots of twists, turns, likeable characters and some silly moments, then now is a perfect time to give it a shot, starting with Yakuza 0.
