The first BioShock 4 screenshot has leaked online

Over the past few months, we've been hearing a lot of rumours around the next BioShock game. While the title has been confirmed publicly by 2K Games, it has not had an official reveal, but it has been claimed that an announcement is not far off. Now, the first image of BioShock 4 has leaked online.

The site MP1st, which has been getting a few scoops recently, has published a screenshot claimed to be from the in-development version of BioShock 4. The screenshot doesn't show much, but we do get a look at the adjusted UI and some very BioShock-esque scenery.

BioShock 4 has been in development since 2019, with the team at Cloud Chamber Games using Unreal Engine 5 to bring the game to life. As Unreal Engine 5 is such an accessible platform, and BioShock is a well-known IP, someone could have potentially faked this screenshot.

Recent rumours suggested that BioShock 4 could be officially announced this year, with a 2025 release date. With that in mind, all eyes will be on Gamescom: Opening Night Live in August for a potential reveal.

KitGuru Says: If this screenshot is legitimate, then fans can get excited about at least one thing – a return to the darker style of the first two games, rather than the bright and whimsical art style of BioShock Infinite.
