Starfield surpassed 6 million players at launch

Starfield is officially Bethesda's most successful launch. The game already had decent review scores and we'd seen decent player counts on PC while the game was still in early access. Now, we have more official figures, with the game garnering over six million players at launch, with one million people playing concurrently on launch day.

In a community thank you post on Twitter yesterday, Bethesda confirmed that Starfield has been played by over six million people already. That number will surely grow as the weekend hits and more people download the game to try it through Game Pass, or through buying it directly.

We know that at least a couple million of those players had picked up the game during its early access period, thanks to a study conducted by the folks over at Play Tracker, who observed a million players each on Steam and Xbox consoles.

Whether or not the game will surpass previous hits like Fallout 4 or Skyrim still remains to be seen but one thing is for sure, Starfield is off to a hot start. If you'd like to read our thoughts on the game, you can check out our newly published KitGuru Games, HERE.
