Star Wars Jedi: Survivor sequel is in the works, actor confirms

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor director, Stig Asmussen, left Respawn earlier this month, calling into question the status of a third game. Fortunately, it would appear that those rumours can now be put to rest, with the actor behind the character Cal Kestis confirming that a third game is on the way.

Respawn's Star Wars Jedi titles were envisioned as a trilogy, with the director of the first two games confirming that he would like to make a third game in this series. However, Asmussen has now left, so it will fall on another Respawn veteran to take on the director mantle for the next game.

Respawn had previously hinted at a third Jedi game through job listings. Now, actor Cameron Monaghan, the performer behind main character Cal Kestis, has confirmed that a third game is on the way. As reported by VGC, Monaghan recently spoke at the Ocala Comic Con, saying that the team is “working on a third game” at the moment.

“We’re working on a third and we’re in the process of doing that right now. That’s a big undertaking and there have been some conversations so far, but hopefully when all things and said and done we’ll be able to go in and make something really cool.”

The next Star Wars Jedi game is still in pre-production, so it will be a few years before we see it in action.

KitGuru Says: It will be interesting to see where things go with a third Star Wars Jedi game. With Survivor, Respawn delved into the High Republic era, which was a huge surprise for me and helped shake things up from the usual Jedi VS Empire formula from this part of the Star Wars timeline.
