Star Wars Jedi: Survivor gets new story trailer ahead of next month’s launch

While we've known about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for a long time now, EA and Respawn have kept a tight lid on any story details. In previous reveals, we learned that the game takes place years after the events of the first game, with Cal Kestis still on the run from the Empire. Today, the official story trailer for the game dropped, giving us plenty of information on what's to come.

The trailer is just under two minutes long and quickly reaffirms the timeline here, with Survivor taking place five years after Fallen Order. It would seem that Kestis and his crew believe they've found a safe haven from the empire and they are looking to hunker down there and protect it.

Aside from story teasers, the trailer also shows off a lot of new gameplay, including new planets, combat and puzzle sections and more. The official description for the game can be found below:

“The dark times are closing in as Cal Kestis seeks out a safe haven far from the reach of the Empire. Five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a more mature Cal Kestis must look beyond his lightsaber to find his destiny in the shadow of the Empire. Familiar friends and new allies – Cere Junda (Debra Wilson), Greez Dritus (Daniel Roebuck), Merrin (Tina Ivlev), and the newly introduced mercenary Bode Akuna (Noshir Dalal) – stand by Cal’s side against the Empire and galaxy’s most ruthless foes. Cal’s quest will take him to new planets and familiar frontiers in the Star Wars galaxy, including Koboh, which is the home of the Bedlam Raiders.”

Star Wars Jedi Survivor will release on the 28th of April for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

KitGuru Says: Fallen Order was a fantastic game and so far, Jedi Survivor is shaping up to be a worthy sequel. There's just over a month left to go until release, so we'll be able to play it for ourselves soon enough.
