Star Wars Battlefront II Open Beta coming in October

Star Wars Battlefront II is heading our way later this year but before we get to the full release, there will be an open beta taking place. This week, EA and DICE announced that the public multiplayer beta would be taking place in October, including access to two specific scenarios, one of them being the battle on Naboo, which we saw at E3 this year.

The beta will be taking place from the 4th of October for anyone that pre-ordered, meanwhile everyone else gets to jump in from the 6th of October. The beta will end on the 9th of October, with the final game coming out on the 17th of November.

There will be two game modes to play, Galactic Assault, which will take place on Naboo, and Starfighter Assault, which we have yet to see extended footage of. Still, the name seems pretty self-explanatory, so we should be expecting large-scale ship battles.

There is no word on whether or not the loot box system will be making an appearance in the beta but it has been in the closed alpha test so far.

KitGuru Says: While I do have reservations about the microtransaction system, I am still looking forward to checking Battlefront II out. Then again, I would probably look forward to any big-budget Star Wars game in some capacity. Have any of you had the chance to try the game out in closed alpha? Do you think it's an improvement over the original?
