After a lengthy period of development, including a full studio move to escape a war, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has officially launched. Within days, the game has become a success, selling over a million copies.
Today, GSC Game World, the studio behind STALKER, confirmed the sales milestone, while also adding that many more players have also jumped into the game via Game Pass:
No wonder it feels a bit crowdy in the Zone. A million copies were sold, and much more stalkers joined the artifact hunt with Game Pass.
This is just the start of our unforgettable adventure. The Heart of Chornobyl emanates stronger with each of us.

While STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has launched with some technical issues, fans of the series have continued championing the game on Steam, in part due to the fact that the previous STALKER games had also launched in a rough state. GSC Game World has already issued patches to the game and is hard at work fixing up issues. It is also worth noting that while reviews have noted technical issues, the wider consensus seems to be that underneath all of that is a gem of a game.
