Splash Damage unveils ‘Project Astrid’ an upcoming open-world survival game

It has been a while since we've heard from Splash Damage but that is changing this week with a new game announcement. The UK-based game studio is now working on a new survival game, with streamers Shroud and Sacriel lending their ideas to the team.

Unlike other recent streamer-developer collaborative projects, this one isn't designed around crypto or NFTs. Instead, this is just supposed to be a fun and honest survival game, with two streamers well-known for playing these types of games helping to relay some ideas that could help push the game above the competition.

The game is being developed under the codename Project Astrid and unfortunately, there are no other details available at this time. However, Splash Damage says it will have more to reveal “in the near future”.

Aside from Project Astrid, Splash Damage is also working on Transformers: Reactive, which is due to begin beta testing later this year. Previously, Splash Damage has worked on other games like Gears Tactics, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Gears 5, Brink, Dirty Bomb and more.

KitGuru Says: A lot of people nowadays watch streamers and take their opinions on board before buying titles, so bringing their feedback into the development process could be helpful, particularly for online multiplayer games.
