Spider-Man: Miles Morales will have a 4K/60fps mode on PlayStation 5

One of the big surprise announcements during Sony's recent PS5 unveiling was Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a smaller, standalone game based in Insomniac's Spider-Man universe. We haven't seen much of the game outside of an initial teaser trailer, but slowly, more details are being shared- with the latest announcement being a 4K/60fps mode on PS5.

There will be two performance profiles for Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PlayStation 5. The first is, just as you would expect, a 4K/30 mode. The other, unlocks the frame rate, allowing for up to 60 frames per second gameplay:

Spider-Man on PS4 was locked at 30 frames per second across both the base console and the PS4 Pro. While the frame pacing was solid, a 60 frames per second version sounds like an absolute dream, particularly for those who are used to gaming on PCs and only occasionally play console exclusives.

So far, this is only confirmed for Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PS5. However, we can hope that the original Spider-Man for PS4 also gets a frame rate bump should Insomniac be looking to update it to take better advantage of the PlayStation 5.

KitGuru Says: Anyone picking up a PS5 this holiday season is likely also going to be grabbing this as a launch title. Given all the web-swinging and acrobatics, this game should play incredibly well at a higher frame rate too, which is bound to make a good first impression for the PS5 generation.
